Welcome to Santa Barbara... typ?

Vi fick hem brev från IBS i måndags. Det handlade mest om hur vi ska bo. Fick även den här listan:

• Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
• Avoid traveling alone at night, especially in poorly lit areas.
• Keep you cell phone on and well charged.
• Let someone (roommates, friends, family) know your schedule and where you are going.
• Try not to act like a tourist.
• Do not carry a lot of cash or credit cards.
• Keep your backpack or handbag close to you.
• Do not accept rides from strangers or hitch hike.
• Always walk in group or take a taxicab home if being out after dark.
• Always keep your apartment door locked and windoes closed (especially when not home).
• If strangers knock at your door, do not let them in.
• Walk on the side of the street facing approaching traffic. If someone in a car tries to bother you or pick you up, run in the opposite direction the car is traveling.  <- wtf?
• Keep your car doors locked while driving. If you need to leave personal belongings and packages in the car, put them in the trunk.
• If you park in an attended lot and must leave your key with the parking attendant, give him only your ignition key. Don't leave any ID with your address on it in the car. 
• You muste wear a seatbelt at all times while driving or being passenger in a car, it is the law.
• Park only in well-lit areas at night.
• You can rent a safety deposit at a bank where you can keep your valuables such as jewelry and documents. It is also not a good idea to keep large sums of money at home, keep them in the bank.
• Observe the people around you when you use an ATM, especially at night. Put your money in your wallet or pocket as soon as you recieve it - do not show it in open view. If your ATM card is stolen or lost, notify the bank as soon as possible.
